Chris is the CEO for Tennis Northern. He has moved from his position at Northern Football and brings a combination of sports and corporate management to ensure Tennis Northern continues to thrive and provide support for clubs and players throughout the region at all levels.
He has played tennis for over twenty years and in 2017 competed at the World Masters Games, winning a gold medal in the doubles.

Helen joined Tennis Northern in November 2011. Originally from the UK, Helen now considers NZ home and works hard to ensure the smooth running of the TNR office whilst also being responsible the finance and accounts. She holds an Accounting and Finance degree and is CIMA qualified. Having worked in various business sectors in the UK, Ireland and France she brings a wealth of experience to the Finance and Office Manager role.
Having only really played tennis as a child, Helen really enjoyed and highly recommends the Tennis Express and Cardio Tennis sessions, a great way to meet people and keep fit.

Gayle joined the Tennis Northern team in August 2023 and brings a wealth of experience in the tennis industry both in New Zealand and the UK. Starting-out as a junior assistant coach at the age of 14, Gayle progressed to a career as a professional coach, coach developer, tennis development manager and official. Gayle’s former roles include Head of Junior Tennis at David Lloyd (Exeter, UK), Head Coach at Mairangi Bay Tennis Club, Participation Programmes Manager and Coach Development Manager at Tennis NZ. Gayle took a break from tennis in 2022 to step into the role of Women and Girls Advisor at Aktive, where her focus was supporting organisations to enhance environments, opportunities, value and visibility for women and girls in sport and recreation through leadership and participation.
As well as supporting players to enjoy the game, Gayle is also an experienced coach developer and delivers professional development courses and workshops for Tennis Northern and Tennis NZ. Gayle developed and presented “A Holistic Approach to Coaching Women and Girls in Tennis” at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Coaches Conference 2022. Gayle is currently the lead Tennis NZ Coach Developer delivering the ITF recognised Development Coach qualification and Tennis NZ Coaching Assistant Course, which are regularly held at Albany Sports Park.
