Tim will be mentored by Nick Jacques the Tennis Manager and will be working in all programmes with a focus on the under 12 age group in both the Mini Academy and futures programme.
Tim started playing tennis at the age of 7 and was coached by his father. Tim trained in the Hong Kong Tennis Association junior squad till the age of 12.
Tim started to coach tennis in Auckland when he was in his 2nd year of university study as the industry work placement, and this is how he started his tennis coaching career.
Last year, he graduated in Bachelor of sport and recreation major in sport and exercise science. Throughout Tim’s university year, he mainly studied human movement, physical conditioning and exercise physiology. This knowledge learnt in the university will be highly useful for developing young tennis players, as developing athletic and ball skills is vital to developing both recreational and high performance tennis players.
