COVID-19 : Information from Tennis Northern on Alert Level 3 & 4

Dear Tennis Community,

Given how much information you are receiving from various sources regarding COVID-19 I will keep this short and to the point. Following the Government’s announcement that New Zealand is moving to alert level 3, Tennis Northern would like to advise the following:

Level 3- Current Situation-next 48 hours

• All Tennis Northern sanctioned group programmes and coaching will be cancelled until further notice
• Tennis Northern centres will be closed until further notice
• One on one coaching is permitted
• The recommendation to Clubs is that they cancel all group programmes & coaching
• The recommendation to Clubs is that they remain open for member play only, however no gatherings of more than 4 people (i.e. a doubles match), all of whom must adhere to the Tennis New Zealand hygiene guidelines

Government Alert Level 4-from midnight Wednesday

• All Tennis Northern programmes and coaching to be cancelled, including one on one coaching, until further notice
• Tennis centres will be closed until further notice
• Tennis Northern recommends that all clubs are closed
• Tennis Northern recommends that all club play is cancelled, including one on one coaching
• These restrictions and recommendation will remain in place until Tennis Northern & Tennis NZ advise of any changes in writing

These are unique times for our sport and New Zealand society as a whole, stay healthy and we look forward to seeing the courts full again once the situation has passed.
